With a star studded cast led by TARAJI P. HENSON, the 2017 biographical film HIDDEN FIGURES switches the spotlight to the women of NASA during its formative years, and not just that, we'll get a glimpse of the story that is rarely told, chronicling the African American women who helped send rockets to the stars. Directed by THEODORE MEFLI and based on MARGOT LEE SHETTERLY's non-fiction book HIDDEN FIGURES: THE STORY OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMEN WHO HELPED WIN THE SPACE RACE, the film follows the story of Katherine Johnson (Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (OCTAVIA SPENCER) and Mary Jackson (JANELLE MONAE), the female scientists crucial to NASA’s early work on Project Mercury and the 1969 moon landing. Scheduled for a January release in 2017, the film also features KEVIN COSTNER, KIRSTEN DUNST and JIM PARSONS
