PROFESSOR X IS MAD SCIENTIST VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN & HARRY POTTER IS IGOR THE ASSISTANT
There has been many attempts to bring Mary Shelley’s classic gothic Frankenstein to the big screens, and frankly many failed miserably. Take last year’s I, Frankenstein (written & directed by Stuart Beattie, starring Aaron Eckhart) for instance, which opened to abysmal reviews. Director Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin 2006, directed episodes of Sherlock & Scandal) is taking the challenge and he has two good reasons to feel confident, Professor X - James McAvoy and Harry Potter - Daniel Radcliffe. McAvoy who will soon reprise his role as Professor X in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016, plays the titular scientist Victor Frankenstein, with Radcliffe starring as his faithful assistant, Igor. Told from Igor’s perspective, he will befriend and witness the hungry scientist’s journey in creating his monster with the hope to unlock the secret to immortality. What's different this time is the more playful-comedic dynamic between the two. The film is slated for a November release.
