WOODY HARRELSON PLAYS VILLAIN IN UPCOMING "WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES"
Woody Harrelson's career resurgence began with the surprising success of "Zombieland" in 2009. Within the same year, he received his 2nd Oscar nod for "The Messenger", and his career has since then been on fire; where he joined the monster "Hunger Games" franchise and his acclaimed turn in the first season of "True Detective" TV series. Harrelson next will star as a villain in Fox’s “War for the Planet of the Apes” — the eighth film in the franchise. Matt Reeves, who directed 2014’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” is returning to helm the project. Harrelson will play a character called the Colonel, but rest of the plot is still kept under wraps. Based on the ending of the last film suggests a full-on war between apes and humans is coming. The film will be released in 2017.
